The following index data has been taken from the book, Ostwanderung der
Wuerttemberger 1816-1822, Sammlung Georg Leibbrandt, by Karl Stumpp and
published in 1941 S. Hirsel at Leipzig in Germany.
This book is referred to on page 204 and of the Stumpp Book and referred to as
"Emigration from Wuerttemberg to the East 1816-1822.
While Stumpp refers to this book on occasion throughout his Stumpp book, there
are many items contained in this book that are not reflected in his Stumpp Book.
This book has now become so scarce as to be classified as rare in Germany - the
GRHS Clearing House went on a search for a copy so an indexing could be made to
share with the Black Sea German Russian researcher.
Since this book has become so hard to find, you will find that this indexing has
went a little further than the normal index.
This project undertaken by the GRHS Clearing House will yield the following
elements of data from this great book, and if possible will also ensure that
other parts of the book is also made available to the public as we are able to
find volunteers to translate and prepare such.
The known data packages currently being prepared in four
parts as follows;
. . . Summaries
. . . Tables 1 through 18
. . . Tables 19 through 24
. . . Data tables from page 132 through 204
The user of this data should be aware that not all of these people went to
Russia. In many cases the destiny of the person or family will be reflected,
but many destinies are not reflected within the data.
Of course name spelling and reading of the original records when the data was
prepared for the book is not always consistent with the spelling of the names
which we are most familiar. So we must be careful to not look past our own
family information.
However, for the seasoned German Russian researcher, there are many pieces of
treasure to be found in these data files, and in some cases, your key clue for
the origins back into Wuerttemberg may well be included - so be alert and
attentive and see what these files hold for you.
