Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery
Location: 17 miles west on Hwy 34 and 9 miles north on 364th Ave. N from Wessington Springs, Jerauld County, SD.
The Ebenezer Baptist Church is gone from its site (2001); however, the cemetery remains situated on a rolling hill beside the foundation of the church. There are no trees and the wind blows constantly. The cemetery is fenced and not all gravesites have markers. Pictures were taken of the gravestones in place in April of 2001. WPA cemetery records have been corrected by Lester Weber, Wessington Springs, Jerauld Co., SD. (He helps maintain the cemetery) It is believed that all those buried here are listed. The first known burial was Lloyd Buchholz in 1928. The last burials Eva Weber and Louise Smith, both in 1955. Copying the information of the gravestones was begun at the east end of the cemetery going from left to right. (The rows are not complete.)
