• GDO Ship List Database  has been updated for the villages of Mariental, Neu Liebental, Josefstal, Franzfeld, and Odessa/Cherson/Liebental/Russia. Many thanks to Bob Deck for sharing information on the DECK and MATERI families and Elena Gabriel for sharing information on the KAISER, LUTZ, MALSAM, MERTJAN, OCHS, SAHLI, SELENSKY, AND WOLFF families.

• The GDO death notices are now searchable. Go to the Death Notices Search page and type in the surname you are researching. Besides the death notices page by village, I have also included a new death notices alphabetical listing page.

• Photographs of the Heimatmuseum der Deutschen aus Bessarabien" in Stuttgart, Germany were added. Even though these pictures are from the Bessarabia Museum, it will still give you a good idea of how our German ancestors dressed and lived.

• GDO home page has a new look! Join the GDO RIG was added to the left menu.

• Kleinliebental Family Database Project.  Surnames starting with the letter S, SCH, T, U and the surnames Sahli, Schlich, and Schnurr. Many thanks to Elena Gabriel for extracting this data and to everyone who did the translating, indexing, and proofing of the files that Elena used for the extraction.

• GDO Ship List Database  has been updated for the village of Neu Freudental. Many thanks to Katherine Bell for sharing information on the SCHATZ families from Neu Freudental.

• GDO Death Notices Database Project. I recently indexed the Volk Auf Dem Weg for the year 2008 (Jan - Oct) and added the following to the database: Alexanderhilf - Schmidtke/Baumgartner; Grossliebental - Weiss/Haid; Blumenfeld - Mok; and Wygoda - Mok.

• EWZ Village-Family Indices Project for GDO - more Neu Freudental files added. This concludes the EWZ files for the Neu Freudental village. Again many thanks to Betty Lang for extracting this data and for all the other volunteers who did the translations, indexing and proofing of the files that Betty used for extraction project.

• Plat maps for the villages of Alexanderhilf, Franzfeld, Freudental, Josefstal, Karlstal, Lenintal, Mariental, Neuburg, and Peterstal.

• EWZ Village-Family Indices Project for GDO - for the villages of Karlstal, Grossliebental, Peterstal, Kleinliebental, and Neu Freudental. Many thanks go out to Dale Wahl for his work on extracting information for the villages of Karlstal, Grossliebental, Peterstal and Kleinliebental.  Many thanks also to Betty Lang for extractions for the village of Neu Freudental. These files are a work in progress and not all villages are completed.
• EWZ Village-Family Indices Project for GDO - for the village of Freudental the following surnames have been added - ROTHENBERGER, SCHAAL, SCHATZ, SCHELL, SCHERER, SCHLECHT, SCHMIDT, SCHOCK, SCHULER, SCULZ, SEIDEL and ZIEGLER. Many thanks to Heather Landmesser for organizing this data for us.
• Freudental Family Database - Surnames starting with Ma-Mi, Mo-Mu, N, Neumueller, O, and Oster have been added. Many thanks to Mary Emer for her work in creating these files for us. Karen Abel has provided some new information on the Freudental We-Wi file for August WEIBLE. Look for the yellow callout box under WEIBLE. Thanks Karen for providing us this information.

• GDO Death Notices Database Project. Many thanks to Frank Ulm who indexed his Volk Auf Dem Weg for the years 1956, 1957, May and June of 1980 and Aug/Sept of 1981. Additions to the following villages were made: Barth - Güldendorf, Lang - Neu Freudental, Schauer - Neu Berlin, and Zerr - Franzfeld.

March 2007

• GDO Families Married in Johannestal in 1884-1885 - extracted from Nikolaev Archives file P410-1-38.
• GDO Families Found in Worms, Beresan in 1906 St. Petersburg Annual Report 1899-1917 - extracted from file 484-1-2359.
• Peterstal Family Database Project. More files have been added to this database.
• GDO Repressions Database Project now includes the villages of Helenental, Lustdorf, Neu Freudental, Neu Lustdorf, and Neuburg. Watch for more villages to be added in the new future.

• GDO Newsletter Index is now searchable instead of a PDF file. The issues are linked to the appropriate newsletter.
• March GDO Newsletter is ready to download.
• GDO Death Notices Database Project has been added to Gayla's Korner. This is a new project for collecting death notices for families from GDO villages. 
• GDO Repressions Database Project now has the villages of Josefstal and Mariental added to it. Watch for more villages to be added in the new future. 
• The website now has SEARCH capability.
• GDO Repressions Database Project now has the village of Kleinliebental added to it. Watch for Josefstal  as the next village to be added.
• Peterstal Family Database Project. Surnames starting with the letters HA-HEI, HEL-HIT and HO-HZ.
• GDO Ship List Database  has been updated for the village of Kleinliebental. Many thanks to Frank Vetsch for sharing information on the VOTSCH [VETSCH] family.
• GDO Repressions Database Project is a NEW Clearing House project started by Gayla Ohlhauser Gray. The first two villages to be added to the database are Alexanderhilf and Freudental. Look for more GDO villages to be added in the near future.
• GDO Ship List Database  has been updated for the villages of Kleinliebental, Mariental and the Odessa region. Many thanks to Elena Gabriel for her continued support of this project.
• Peterstal Family Database Project. Surnames starting with the letters GA-GE, GI and GL-GU.
