About the Grossliebental District Odessa Regional Interest Group
Mission Statement
The Grossliebental District Odessa Regional Interest Group:
- Recognizes the need to bring together people interested in the collection, publication, and preservation of our heritage as Germans from Russia.
- Fosters the preservation of folklore, songs, literature, objects of art, genealogies, photos, documents, and all applicable records
- Will work to carry out the objectives of GRHS and the GDO RIG chapter.
- Works to increase the information and furthur the knowledge of our ancestory and history in the Grossliebental District of Odessa, Russia.
Annual Meeting
An annual meeting of the GDO RIG chapter will be scheduled and held at each annual convention of the GRHS or online. The scheduling of this meeting will also be disseminated via the convention schedule or the GDO Listserv.
Village Coordinators (VCs)
GRHS has volunteer representation from many GDO villages who act as Village Coordinators (VC). Each member of the GDO RIG chapter is encouraged to network with the VCs representing their ancestoral villages and parishes. It is essential that the activities of these volunteer VCs be supported.
As we continue to grow we encourage members to volunteer and help us further our mission to develop a comprehensive web portal of people, data, and photographs from the villages of the Grossliebental villages. If you would like to volunteer email Mia Boster at miab @ wavecable.com
GDO Listserv
The GDO listserv is a closed list, which means that membership in the list requires application to and approval of the List Administrator.
