Crimea Archives
This web page will be used to keep the Crimea Research community
apprised of the on-going activities related to the retrieval of records from the
archives in the Ukraine and Russia.
In September of 2008, the Executive Team met with the director of the Simferopol Archives and we now have an agreement, similar to our agreement with the Nikolaev Archives, to retrieve German-Russian records. These records are extremely important in helping us find and understand what life was like for our ancestors in Russia. Once the records are retrieved, a copy is held at GRHS and a copy is prepared for the translation teams. Once the records are translated they are then prepared for publishing/sharing.
