First check out the data that is on the village data pages. When we find a good listing in a good source we will try to reflect that data there on the specific village's data page. The data you find there can be supplemented by checking the source data contained in the following village packages.
Over the years there has been several Heimatbuchs and annual Heimat Kalenders published in Germany and by the Bessarabian Museum. We have some work that has been done on a few of these and you can see that work on these links.
The following data is not what we would normally think of as "founding families", but more an assortment of notes from various places grouped by the village, of some of the earlier people to the village, and trails the researcher can use to hopefully find clues to where the family came from.
Early work was done concerning our Bessarabian families by Dr Karl Stumpp in a 1938 book. There we can also see earlier routes and trails some of our Bessarabian families took on their way to the Bessarabian German Villages, such as Poland and Prussia, and Hungary.
