General Information
The New Mexico Chapter is the first national chapter chartered as a joint chapter with both AHSGR and GRHS charters. In addition, the Chapter has “Friends of the Chapter” who are interested in the German-Russian heritage and culture but do not presently belong to AHSGR or GRHS. In this way, all members are introduced to both organizations and benefit from the camaraderie of meeting with all who have German-Russian interests. The Chapter meets quarterly (March, June, September, December) on the second Saturday of the month. The first hour is a presentation (often by members about their families or by an outside speaker); the second hour is a social hour and the business meeting. Members have joined from all corners of the state, and those who cannot travel the distance to attend meetings regularly benefit from a 12-page quarterly newsletter throughout the year.
