GRHS Membership

We Welcome You to Join!

We welcome all those who are interested in their heritage, whether directly or indirectly related to the Germanic-Russian saga, to become members of the Society. A special invitation is extended to the younger generation, no matter where they may dwell in the world. A special web page has been created to welcome and encourage the younger generation to become members.

We want and need your help... to preserve what has been handed down, and to build new frontiers. We need to tell the facts of our forefathers' migrations and their pioneering spirit. We believe it is an exciting story, and one that is a source of pride to our heritage. We have members from more than 40 states, almost all of the Canadian Provinces, South America and other countries.

Membership Benefits

As a member you will learn to understand your ancestry and become proud of your heritage. You can help the Society to further its efforts in researching, recording, filing, and publishing all of the interesting achievements connected with our forebears. Your own mark will become an enduring tribute to posterity. What we preserve and build upon will be a benefit to our children and theirs for generations to come. The deeds of today will be cherished tomorrow.

As part of your membership each member receives:

  1. Four issues of the society journal, Heritage Review, each year

  2. Access to the member-only portions of the GRHS website at www.grhs.org. Member-only portions of the website are usually signified by a lock symbol () and anyone trying to view those pages will be asked for a user name and password. Passwords are valid from Jan 1st to Dec 31st of each year. The member-only pages include A special email address () is available to assist members to access members-only pages and files.

  3. Members are offered discounts on books and publications sold in the GRHS eStore or purchased at GRHS HQ.

  4. Discounted prices are given to members registering for the annual GRHS Convention.

Your membership places you into direct contact with people who share common interests in various aspects of Germanic-Russian culture. Local GRHS chapters sponsor an annual international convention, and they sponsor area Oktoberfests, Heritage days, food bazaars, travel tours, picnics, songfests, lectures, genealogical research classes, folklore sessions... whatever members prefer. The new Regional Interest Groups (RIG) provide you with valuable assistance and information about the region your ancestors came from and may even be able to help you find long lost ancestors through our extensive records retrieval programs. RIGs are internet based so you may join a RIG from anywhere in the world. The annual GRHS conventions are exciting opportunities to socialize with friends, to meet new people and family, and to share in the common activities of the society.
